We aren’t entirely sure how long it’s been leaking, so we’ll probably take it down to studs (just in case), let everything dry out, then slowly renovate as budget allows. You know how things snowball though. There has been discussion of doing a lot of the things we’ve been putting off in one (slow) swoop.
We found a leak that led from our bathtub upstairs to the floor/wall downstairs. I got out of the bath one evening, feeling wonderful and refreshed, and Jeremiah starts yelling that there were bubbles all over the floor downstairs. The floor was covered with them.
I hope everything works out for you. It’s hard knowing what you want/need and yet staying on-budget.
Oh man, I cannot imagine accidentally draining bubbles everywhere! Major suck! At least(ish?) ours was going under the house? And apparently for quite a while.
Yeah, the budgeting is definitely the hard part. Fortunately what we want is fairly affordable, we’re going to recoat our existing tub, and we got a great deal on a toilet and sink. But still!
Whoa! You weren’t kidding! :( At least you guys figured out the real problem before it caused major damage!!!
