Dishing It Out

Ok, so I am uber late posting this, and I apologize to my one reader for that.  Without any pomp and circumstance whatsoever, I am finally back to finish what I started in this post (and if you’re looking for the rest of the window seat project, you can see that here).  The hutch! With dishes!

Good thing I don’t even think my mom reads this, because there would be copious amounts of groaning and eye rolling at me for saying there wasn’t any pomp and circumstance and then linking back to other posts.  Whoops!  Moving on, if that spot on the bottom shelf looks blank it’s because I removed the tiles I made to go beside our door that spell out our last name.  Sorry internet folks, I don’t know you well enough to give you my last name or my digits, you haven’t even bought me dinner yet.  Or taken me to a movie.  Geeez!  (Oh yeah, and I’m married!)

And in case you are lazy like me and do not want to click the links to go back to the other posts, the grey I used is Valspar Restless Seas and the blue is Valspar East Coast, and they’re both from the Seaside Retreat line.

The black metal thing next to the hutch is a roadside find (I’m kind of addicted to them, as mentioned here) table base that is going to be used to hold firewood.

What do you think?  I am pretty much in love with it and would leave Robert for it except that I am a lucky lady who gets to be married to him and have a hutch that looks like this.  Seriously folks, who knew adulthood life came with cool perks like that?  And this beauty is all mine ours for the low, low price of about $9 for three sample cans, since the pieces are hand me downs.  What’s not to love about that?

    Thanks so much, Bria!

I think I always forget how much I hate it, because I’m always eager to start a painting project but then halfway through I wish I hadn’t, haha! I always love the end result though, so maybe I just block out the “ARGH!” moments?

It turned out nice, I’m a sucker for grey paint. Anyways your china cabinet looks nice and modern.

Came over from YHL, the blue in the back of the shelves
looks great, and I love how it contrasts with the white plates
    etc.. you’ve put inside it.

  7. Your hutch looks great! I love the colours.
